Fellowship

This committee is all about people.  From the time they first come to visit until they leave our church family, it is our responsibility to create a warm, welcoming and friendly environment.  Our goal is to provide opportunity for fellowship and to nurture deep caring relationships within the life of our church and our community.

This is the ministry for you if you enjoy serving others in a way that makes their time at our church more enjoyable.  Please consider joining us and be included in one of the following areas:

  • Sunday Coffee Fellowship
  • Oversight of new members’ classes
  • Maintain the church directory
  • Organize special services such as Church In the Park
  • Assist with church dinners
  • Assist with special events
  • 4th of July Parade Float
  • Membership retention

Our primary goal is to provide a welcoming environment to each member of our church family. Coffee Fellowship following the worship service each Sunday provides a time and place in which we can all come together to begin new friendships and strengthen existing ones. In other words: to Fellowship with one another. We also provide welcome packets for newcomers to let them know a little about our church and provide information and answers to some questions.

We also take part in special activities such as helping to provide and serving cookies and hot chocolate on each of the three nights of our annual Living Nativity. This year following the Maundy Thursday service we hosted a fellowship time where refreshments were served. Following the Peter Whitebird concert, which was held in our church sanctuary in April, all in attendance were invited for coffee, punch, cookies and fellowship. This year we marked Mother’s Day with a pretty cake (served by members of the Eimon Family) and spring flowers for each lady in attendance.

Another special time that we have the opportunity to participate in is the New Members Dinner which is held at the conclusion of the training provided to those who have expressed interest in joining the church. The Fellowship Committee prepares and serves these dinners. We are fortunate to be among the first to welcome new members into our church family.

Those serving on our Fellowship Committee are Jane Jennings, Betty Blote, Jonesie Abernathy, Margaret Ybarra, and although they aren’t officially on the committee, Joan Egan, Kate Ristow, and Joanne Breffle have contributed many hours of service in the kitchen.

If you want to know more about this committee or think this would be a place that you would enjoy serving, please contact Margaret Ybarra.
