Have you ever prayed fervently for someone else, but wished you could somehow do something more?

Prayer Shawls are prayers made tangible.  Each shawl is lovingly created (usually knit, sometimes crocheted) while praying for the recipient.  They are intended to help the recipient feel warm, loved, and hugged, by the creator of the shawl and by the Master Creator. They also “carry” the prayers and blessings of each member of the Prayer Shawl circle.  Shawls are created for people facing physical challenges, grief, loss, or any other situation for which they would like prayer. Prayer shawls have also been given to new mothers, and friends moving far away.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets monthly in the library at Templeton Presbyterian. The afternoon group meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m.

Please feel free to join us or call the church office if you know of someone who would benefit from receiving a prayer shawl. You can also contact Lois Ecklund at lecklund514@sbcglobal.net with questions about the ministry.
